A certificate of Origin
(Often abbreviated to C/O or CO) is a document widely used in international trade transactions which attests that the product listed therein has met certain criteria to be considered as originating in a particular country. A certificate of origin is generally prepared and completed by the exporter or the manufacturer and may be subject to official certification by an authorized third party. It is often submitted to a customs authority of the importing country to justify the product’s eligibility for entry and/or its entitlement to preferential treatment.
Burp or Burping
To “burp your nugs” is to remove air from glass jars that contain bud material during the curing process. As cannabis buds cure and dry, moisture is released and CO2 gas is produced. When cured in a sealed container, pressure builds up. Burping the jars allows both pressure and moisture to be released.
Cannabidiol- CBD
A common non-intoxicating compound produced by cannabis, with a wide range of medical applications.
(CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of cannabis, a plant with a rich history as medicine going back thousands of years. Today the therapeutic properties of CBD are being tested and confirmed by scientists and doctors around the world. A safe, non-addictive substance, CBD is one of more than a hundred “phytocannabinoids,” which are unique to cannabis and endow the plant with its robust therapeutic profile.

Certificates of Analysis - COA
A Certificate of Analysis is a document issued by Quality Assurance that confirms that a regulated product meets its product specification. They commonly contain the actual results obtained from testing performed as part of quality control of an individual batch of a product. This will tell you as little information as just the total CBD and thc content, or a full spectrum of information from heavy metals and pesticides, mold, terpenes, and a variety of other cannabinoids.
Distillate
is a highly refined cannabis extract often derived from high CBD hemp flower and hemp biomass. CBD Distillate typically contains around 80% CBD with the balance including minor cannabinoids, terpenes, and other plants oils and extracts
Efficacy
the ability to produce a desired or intended result. This refers to what is your body’s ability to fully absorb and “use” a substance. For example, the body is proven to only be able to absorb certain quantities of CBD content in a serving, depending on the format and liposomes, so if the product has a high “efficacy” it means your body is able to fully absorb, digest, put to work a high content of the product you are taking.
Entourage Effect:
The entourage effect refers to the beneficial effect of all these compounds working together as opposed to just one or two of these compounds working in isolation.
Simply put: the Entourage Effect is the benefit you get from ingesting multiple components of the cannabis plant together instead of ingesting one component at-a-time.
Escrow
is an arrangement where you use a “third party” (somebody who is neither the buyer or seller) to hold something of value. That third party helps to make the transaction safer by ensuring that both the buyer and seller meet their obligations.
Hemp
a tall widely cultivated Asian herb (Cannabis sativa of the family Cannabaceae, the hemp family) that is cultivated for its tough bast fiber and edible seeds and oil and that is often separated into a tall loosely branched species (C. Sativa) and a low-growing densely branched species (C. indica NOTE: Cultivated hemp is often distinguished from cannabis by possessing very low levels of the psychoactive substance THC.
Isolate
is cannabidiol in its purest form. To produce this extract, CBD is isolated and then refined to strip out any additional cannabinoids, terpenes, and plant components found in the hemp plant. The final product is a fine white powder that contains around 99% cannabidiol.
Letter of Intent - LOI
A letter of intent (LOI) is a document outlining the general plans of an agreement between two or more parties before a legal agreement is finalized. A letter of intent is not a contract and cannot be legally enforced; however, it signifies a serious commitment from one involved party to another.
Liposome
an artificial vesicle composed of one or more concentric phospholipid bilayers and used especially to deliver microscopic substances (such as drugs or DNA) to body cells. These are “carriers” such as MCT oil or coconut oil that are designed to help the content of products get into and be absorbed by your body.
MCT Oil
MCT oil is a supplement made from a type of fat called medium-chain triglycerides.
MCT molecules are smaller than those in most of the fats you eat (long-chain triglycerides [LCT]). This makes it easier to digest. You can absorb MCT in your bloodstream quickly. This turns it into energy you can use.
Where Does It Come From?
MCT oil is usually made from coconut or palm kernel oil. Both have MCT in them. You can buy 100% MCT oil or a mixture of MCT and LCT.
What Is It Used For?
Usually, people use MCT for help with:
- Problems taking in fat or nutrients
- Weight loss
- Appetite control
- Extra energy for exercise
- Inflammation
More research is needed to discover if MCT oil can help with any of these conditions.
Proof of Funds - AKA POF
There are a variety of ways that proof of funds can be required. This could be as quick and easy as a bank account screenshot showing current date and balance, a certified letter from an attorney or escrow stating that “X” number of funds are available to you for a purchase, or it can be required at a certain point in a deal that funds be placed with an escrow service as proof of funds to ensure that all parties are satisfied.
Proof of Life - AKA POL
Is a combination of video(s), Picture(s), video chat showing that the product is with the seller with the specifications and total volume criteria met.
Terpenes
Organic compounds that provide aroma and flavor in cannabis and a variety of other organisms, including plants. Terpenes are responsible for the aroma and flavors of cannabis and influence its effects by interacting with cannabinoids. Terpenes are formed inside cannabis trichomes, and their relative presence is directly affected by both the spectrum and intensity of light exposure.
Scientifically speaking, terpenes are defined as “a large class of hydrocarbon compounds constructed from five-carbon isoprene units that are combined to produce a great variety of skeletons.” These basic molecular “skeletons” are “then acted upon by various enzymes to add functionality and altered oxidation,” processes that ultimately lead to the wide variety of effects produced by terpenes.
Tetrahydrocannabinol AKA THC
is the chemical responsible for most of marijuana’s psychological effects. It acts much like the cannabinoid chemicals made naturally by the body, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).
